June 19 – September 11
Central City is pleased to announce that it has partnered with the City of Surrey to host PARKit 150 on the centre’s outdoor plaza from June 19 to September 11.
PARKit 150 is pop-up park that celebrates Canada’s 150th anniversary. Visitors to the site can enjoy the feel of a classic Canadian summer day spent relaxing at the lake. A public piano and open areas surrounded by seating provide opportunities for conversation and relaxation. Free entertainment and other activations will be incorporated into the installation throughout the summer.
The pop-up park was designed by landscape architect Amy Tsang, who provides small and large scale landscape architectural design services to property developers, municipalities, and homeowners.
PARKit150 is co-sponsored by Central City and the City of Surrey. Established by the City of Surrey in 2012, the PARKit program has been initiated at several Surrey locations throughout the past 5 years. The program has been successful at enlivening and greening these urban spaces. Click here for more information.
